Kist’s Book: The Socially Networked Classroom: Teaching in the New Media
Self-reflection Journal Entry: Identify where you are in your ability to utilize technology. Are you a “Short,” “Tall,” “Grande,” or “Venti” as Kist describes in his book? What is your comfort zone?
Not submitted but you will refer to it in the final rationale.

After realizing where you are, stretch yourself and adapt a lesson for your classroom utilizing technology. Many ideas are mentioned in Kist’s book. Post on Wiki. Learn with others: Read and discuss with your group

Research: Coiro, J. (2011). Predicting Reading Comprehension on the Internet: Contributions of Offline Reading Skills, Online Reading Skills, and Prior Knowledge Journal of Literacy Research, 43(4), 352-392.
Connect research to practice by relating Coiro’s study with Kist’s practice. Write a 1- 2 page reaction paper for how the technology and strategy employed in your lesson will support online comprehension in your discipline.
